Offline image tools for Android
PixKit (package name com.sun.rain.pixkit) is an Android image toolbox. It gathers a set of everyday image utilities into one app: compressing photos, converting between image formats, turning photos into a PDF, building collages, adding text watermarks, resizing, cropping and rotating, and reading image information such as dimensions and EXIF data.
Every one of these tools runs entirely on your device. PixKit has no user account, no server of its own and no cloud service: your images are never uploaded anywhere. The app also works with the network switched off — only the optional reward video described in section 3 needs a connection.
This privacy policy explains what information is processed when you use PixKit, why it is processed and what choices you have. By installing and using the app you acknowledge the practices described below.
We do not collect, upload or store any personal data on our own servers. Specifically:
There are two exceptions, neither of which involves your photos. Advertising: the Google Mobile Ads SDK processes certain data automatically, as described in section 3. Purchases: if you buy PixKit Pro, Google Play processes the payment and we receive only a purchase token, as described in section 7.
PixKit is free of charge and is supported by advertising delivered by Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK).
We use a single ad format: an optional rewarded video. It is never shown automatically and never interrupts your work. After you have used the free runs included in the app for the day, you may choose to watch a short video to unlock additional runs. Watching is always your choice, and if no video is available the app keeps working.
To deliver and measure ads, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may automatically collect and share the following information:
This information is used for advertising and marketing, for measuring ad performance and for fraud prevention, and it may be shared with Google's advertising partners. It is transmitted over encrypted connections.
To be clear: the ad SDK never receives your photos, your exported files or the contents of your gallery.
You can control advertising identifiers and personalised advertising on your device at any time:
For more information about how Google processes this data:
Apart from Google AdMob, PixKit does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising or tracking service.
We do not use your personal data, because we do not collect any. The limited information processed by the advertising SDK is used solely to display the reward video, to measure its performance and to prevent fraud, as described in section 3.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for any purpose unrelated to running the app and its advertising.
PixKit requests as few permissions as possible. The complete list declared by the app is:
PixKit does not request: camera, microphone, contacts, calendar, precise or approximate location, phone, SMS, body sensors, or any photo, media or storage permission. In particular the app does not declare READ_MEDIA_IMAGES, READ_MEDIA_VIDEO, READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, WAKE_LOCK or FOREGROUND_SERVICE.
Because PixKit is an image tool, this section deserves its own explanation.
The image-information tool only reads what is already stored inside the file — for example the camera model, exposure settings or a location tag — and shows it to you locally. It never transmits this information and never modifies the file.
PixKit offers a single optional purchase, PixKit Pro, which removes the daily limit on how many operations you can run and turns off the reward videos. It is a one-time purchase, not a subscription, and it unlocks no feature that is otherwise locked: every tool and every format is available in the free version.
The payment is processed entirely by Google Play. We never see or store your name, your card number, your billing address or any other payment detail. What we can see through the Google Play Developer API is a purchase token and the product identifier, and we use them for exactly two things: to unlock Pro on your device and to answer refund or support requests.
Because the entitlement is tied to your Google account, it is restored automatically when you reinstall the app or install it on another device signed in with the same account. PixKit keeps the unlocked state in its own private storage on your device so the purchase keeps working offline.
Google Play handles refunds under its own policy. If something goes wrong with a purchase, write to us first at android.sun.rain@gmail.com and we will help. You can also request a refund through Google Play, and this privacy policy does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
For how Google processes payment information, see the Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
All app data is stored locally on your device, in the app's private storage. No copy exists on any server.
The locally stored data consists of: your appearance and language preferences, your preferred saving behaviour, the number of free runs you have used today, and whether the app is unlocked.
Exported images and PDFs are written to the locations described in section 6 and remain there until you delete them.
Uninstalling the app removes its settings. You can also erase them at any time through Android Settings → Apps → PixKit → Storage → Clear storage. Exported files are not removed by uninstalling the app; delete them from your gallery or file manager.
No storage permission is required for any of this. We apply reasonable technical measures to protect the data we control; please note that no method of storage is completely secure.
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the following applies.
Legal bases for processing (Article 6 GDPR):
Your rights: you have the right to access, rectify, erase and restrict the processing of your personal data; the right to data portability; the right to object to processing; and the right to withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before you withdrew it. You also have the right not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing.
How to exercise them: contact us at android.sun.rain@gmail.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
Data controller: the developer of PixKit, reachable at the address above. We have not appointed a data protection officer, as we do not carry out processing that would require one.
Because PixKit itself does not collect personal data, requests concerning advertising data are best directed to Google as the provider of the ad SDK. We will assist you wherever we can.
If you are a California resident, the CCPA/CPRA gives you specific rights regarding your personal information.
To make a request, contact us at android.sun.rain@gmail.com. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.
PixKit is a general-purpose utility app and is not directed to children under 13, or under 16 where local law requires it. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app contains no user accounts, no chat, no messaging, no social features and no user-generated content.
Parents and guardians can additionally disable ads personalisation on the device, as described in section 3.
If you believe that a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
We keep no personal data on our servers. Data stored locally on your device remains until you clear the app's storage or uninstall the app. Files you exported remain in your own storage until you delete them. Data processed by the Google Mobile Ads SDK is retained in accordance with Google's own retention policies.
Advertising data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your country of residence, including the United States, by Google and its partners. Where required, such transfers rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, including its UK extension.
PixKit itself transfers nothing, because it transmits no personal data at all.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The updated version will be published on this page with a new 'Last updated' date. Material changes will be highlighted in the app or in the store listing.
Continuing to use the app after an update means that you accept the revised policy.
If you have any questions, requests or complaints about this privacy policy, or about how PixKit handles your data, please contact us:
